Moore Injury Worries

Moore Injury Worries

Prolific right back Tom Moore is a doubt to play tonight in the 18:30 KO against Nettleham Reserves. Moore suffered an ankle injury in a sexual related incident on Saturday night, which kept him out of the match against Welton last Sunday. It is believed that Moore was attempting to penetrate an unnamed person with his foot when the ankle injury occurred, between the hours of 3am and 4am Sunday morning. When asked to comment before the match on Sunday, fill in right back Josh Lumbard said, “His ankle is like a balloon. This is my chance to impress.” Lumbard went on to score a cracker, sadly against his own keeper.

Moore is known as the Gareth Bale of Sunday league football. He scored a lot of points from defence last season and may be given a chance further up field this season according to Nettles gaffer James Carter.

“I’m thinking of giving Mooresy a go further up field. Perhaps the right wing, but only if we have sufficient cover in the right back position.”

It seems as though Wednesday may be a day for the lesser-known players at the club to make a name for themselves. With Moore injured the right back position is wide open. Jonny Jenkins may fancy his chances in this position after struggling to find his ideal position amongst the Nettles star line up. Moore’s injury has added to Carters disappointments of late preceding Steve White being ruled out for several months after a leg brake.
